Collective 02 by JerMohler Collective 02 by JerMohler
Here is my latest First Friday contribution to Outland Collective! You can read a bit more about the piece over here.

This piece was completed in full on my Cintiq21UX, so it's an entirely digital piece.

Very cool piece. How is the Cintiq?

I've been dying to try one.

Thanks! And it's great - really streamlines drawing on the computer. I definitely couldn't make it work with my Intuos, but working on the Cintiq is really a lot easier.

Reminds me of the cemetery scene in League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Thanks Robert! I haven't watched that movie in a long time, I may need to go back and check it out. I know a lot of people hated it, but I never thought it was all that bad.

Me either. In fact, it's one of my favorite movies.

Actually, I often seem to like the ones that don't do well initially. A recent example is "John Carter". Disney deserves every bit of the financial losses they sustained over two things; 1, the way they promoted the movie, and 2, the title they chose. Leaving off "Of mars" was an inexcusable mistake.

But the movie is a visual masterwork. And the story is great. Disney (obviously incorrectly) felt that not enough modern viewers would relate to the work of an author who wrote around the turn of the century. Which is amazing when you consider how they remained true to the original story in so many key ways.

I really like the movie. It bombed in the theaters, and only time will tell if it resurfaces as an underground hit.

Ah, well.
